WTF...Gas in vacuum hoses
So i'm driving home today, and the car dies. I noticed, while the car was still moving, that the air/fuel gauge was at full rich. 10.0 on aem guages. Last 2 times this happened an intercooler hose popped off so i figured that was the problem. When i get under the hood i notice "liquid" coming out of the bleed hole on my boost controller. I try to restart the car and it cranks for about 3 seconds, then stops. Let off the key, try it again and the starter starts to spin way fast like its not engaging. So i go under the car to look at the starter and notice MASSIVE amounts of gas dripping from under the battery. This of course has me stumped because as we know there arent any fuel lines there.

So i get the car towed home and start to tinker. Well every vacuum line is filled with gas. I mean filled. I undo the boost controller and gas poors out of it. I undo one of the vacuum lines that runs around the back of the motor and same thing. I undo the 2 vacuum lines that go on the top of the intake by the fuel rail ( high port ) and same thing.

When it first happened i noticed my fuel pressure guage would go to 50 psi when i turned the key. But as soon as the fuel pump stopped priming it dropped to 0. Now when i do the same thing the fuel pressure guage only goes up to 2-3 psi and back to 0 after it stops priming.

Anyone have any idea what could cause massive amounts of fuel to be in the vacuum lines? I've never seen such a thing and am really stumped.

your fuel pressure regulator is bad and filling your lines with gas. Simple enough. No other way for it to happen

Replace it. Diaphram cracked. Ive seen it happen before

I second the fpr. Seen it many times.

Yeah i've come to the conclusion thats gotta be it. My Nismo FPR is only 2 years old. Not very impressive.

I've got no fuel pressure all of a sudden. When i disconnected the vacuum line from the FPR and turned the key i got some burbbling coming out of the disconnected vacuum lines. And actually had gas coming out of one of the vacuum lines that goes to the top of the intake mani. Not sure this makes any sense seeing as how the FPR line was off and of course i'm not starting the car.

Have you got a new FPR in yet? I mean, that's so clearly the issue it's not even worth testing. Get the new FPR in there and make sure all the lines are clear of gasoline and you should be in business.

Maybe a bad injector or seal filling up the intake with gas.

i just put a stock FPR in to see what that would do and it's doing the same thing. I've got one of the vacuum lines from the back of the intake off. When i turn on the car gas starts shooting out of the line. I don't know if this stock FPR is good or not, as it came on a fuel rail that i bought.

We've got a winner. Took out the fuel rail and one of the plastic doo dads at the end of cylinder #2's injector is gone. And theres a large pool of gas visible through all 4 holes in the intake where the injectors go. Now i get to take the manifold off to try and find the plastic piece. The fun never ends.....
