Thread: 54C Head with JWT S4HL cams

Hello guys i am able to get a head from a GTiR and would like to put it on my setup with the GTiR ITBs, but i dont know if the S4HL Cams would fit... as i think this head is diferent...

What should i do to get them to fit?

I searched and didnt find info about this...

Call JWT and see what they say. Pretty sure you can't just run de/det S-series cams in a gtir.

why not just stick with the regular DE head and get an aftermarke IM which will make more power than the GTiR ITBs?

As i readed, the GTiR head flows way better than the standar DE head... so there will be a gain... and also, finding a Aftermarket IM would require lots of money...

I am pretty sure that it could be done but some work needed to be done, I think I read that here on the forum but I could be mistaken.

Im also pretty sure that the compression will go down a bit due to the combustion chamber of the GTiR head

This is what JWT answered:

"The JWT S4HL cams are a hydraulic lifter cam profile and will not work in the Pulsar GTI-R engine as it is a mechanical lifter design. You can only use cams designed for mechanical lifters such as our JWT S3M cams in the Pulsar GTI-R engine."

I this is not good... so i think i would stay with the stock SR20DE Head...

Just port the DE head.

Here in Costa Rica, there is no place where you can port your head... and the places here that say that they can do it... are most likely to screw up your head... so better not... no one have a flow bench... so its dificult...

see if you can get your hands on a lowport head. They're cheap and its still better than a standard highport head. The cams will gain more in the lowport head as opposed to the highport. If you already have a lowprt head, idk unless you can shell out for a ve head setup.
