That sounds like a fun experiment, and Im willing, just need something to datalog with.

Check out amazon for a battery replacement. I just bought one for my dell (original batt lost a cell) and it was only $35 from "New Trent" on amazon....works great too

i tried something similarly priced on ebay, and it lasted a couple months (supposed to have a 2 yr warranty also) but when i mailed it back in to get a replacement, seller claimed he never got it.

Since my plugs didnt show signs of detonation, im leaning towards my hiccups as being misfires from being too rich.

That kinda makes sense since my car was tuned when it was still 50's outside.

There is a fuel modification section for warmer temps via the AIT. Ben can probably chime in on that more specifically but I would definitely look into that then.

So any ideas on what to use to battle conduction heat soak. I'm tempted to use header wrap like unijabnx2000 is using, but we did get a lot of NO's with that.

The way i see header wrap: its an insulator. If the air get cooled enough in the intercooler than wrapping the cold side should keep that cool air inside that pipe better.

and the difference I saw when i wrapped my hot pipe was instant.

But when i get the bigger intercooler, Ill be using the gold foil tape onthe cold side instead of header wrap

Just wrap the parts that are next to really hot stuff.

I have had better luck using the foil covered fiberglass from Home Depot than that woven header wrap. Anything is going to help though if the IC pipe is running over the manifold.

We'll that's exactly what I'm thinking too with using an insulator. And since we don't have an open flames in the engine bay, I don't know how much a radiant wrap would actually help in this case.

Good call on he foil covered fiberglass, I'll check it out. On my current setup the piping is right next to the radiator for a bit, but I wouldn't say it's near enough the downpipe to really see a difference.

i have a jdm pulsar gti-r with top mounted arc intercooler, i have a foil covered "radiant" heat shield. it works. intercooler is lightly warm to the touch vs burning hot after driving, and lag is noticably gone when putting around town.

Alright doing some research and talking to BenFenner about it. Seems like radiant is just easier to prevent since all you need is reflective material. Conduction heat is a lot harder to prevent, thus it's easier just to go preventing radiant.
