At 200F you should be fine that isn't that hot. When your temps are up around 240-250 you are looking at some problems.

Pick up even a $15 dollar water/oil/amp gauges from Autozone, they work well enough. This will help narrow your problems down and give you a better idea of what is going on with your motor.

I was seeing knock that at 210*F which didn't appear to be there at 200*F. Granted I'm still trying to tune out the 10.3:1 VE-T. Having a lower comp should make it far less picky.

The AEM reads the stock temp gauge. No need to buy one if you can run your computer. The other idea is to run an AEM Serial Datastream gauge. Its like 16 gauges in one.

I dont want a too modified look.
Which is why i got a inline wideband UEGO controller.
Dont want the extra gauge.
Besides the vac/boost gauge...cant include the temp since its replacing the stock one.

and like you say, once i get a way to use my laptop in the car... i can use it to show gauges.

200°F intake temps is insane. I get worried at anything above 140°F and start pulling timing at anything hotter.

Intake temps yeah, but coolant/oil temps no. I wasn't paying attention there LOL

No need to get bent out of shape, I the sock comment was not about your post, I can see the reflective tape working on radiant heat no doubt., it was a general statement that someone on the web will decide to use socks or other clothes to "heat wrap" the intake piping.
