battling heat soak
Ive been getting some serious heat soak.
Sitting for a couple minutes at a stop light, will cause my piping (cold side going to TB) to get hot enough to cause "hiccups" when i boost after I get moving again.

Ive tried header wrap on my hot pipe, which helped alot.
and i tried some on the cold side, but the heat still gets thru.

Everything gets fine after I get moving again for a few minutes.

Ideas.

What thermostat are you using? I would try to lower the engine temp at the core, aka the cooling system.

Try changing it, modding the stock one, Nismo unit maybe?

Water pump nice and fresh? Electric one? Sorry, I do not know what all is on your setup, just tossing out ideas for you to pick at.

Oil cooler?

Bigger intercooler?

Fresh outta ideas, I don't mess with turbos

just put a oem stat in when i changed the headgasket (i was pushing coolant) Nismo stat was on back order when i talked to greg a few weeks ago... and didnt want to wait.

Not having overheating issues, as far as i can tell... (i havent gotten the temp gauge i ordered yet...but going with a digital to replace the oem in the cluster)

Water pump should be fine. and have the oem oil cooler that is on my DET.

I will be ordering the treadstone intercooler and new piping soon as well.

I have had good luck with griffen intercooler cores. Tho the intercooler cooling aera is massive 26X20X3 I think is what it was.
