ok i know they are different than the sr20 but the block material is the same. their torque specs are perfectly matched to our engines as well. Just like ARP's first set was to torque to around 75 lb-ft of torque. But since their studs stucked and were not designed right they upped it to try and compensate but they still stuck

I guarantee my engine could take well over 500whp with no problems. Again use the Cosworth or Mazworx headgasket and you will be good to go man. The two combined is a hell of a combo.

Guys they do NOT torque to honda factory specs.... I know it says OEM torque specs, but they don't use them except for tightening sequence. (as ashton and I have said before)

Honda aluminum isn't magically different either so torque specs are torque specs.

Do you guys think that these studs can be torqued to Nissan factory specs??? That are higher than 75lb-ft of torque???
As far of Hg I don't know but I like how OEM HG works with fire rings made to the head surface..
Ashton: please dont start to guarantee things that you have never done before jejejeje
You are on the right track but please keep it real and don't guarantee nothing until you accomplish it...

Payu you do NOT need to torque higher...

Torque value is calculated based on clamp load, material you are threading into, material you are clamping, and size. There is NOTHING different between a b16 and sr20 to change the calculated recommended torque.

Torquing higher can cause it to hold LESS load. (I haven't run the numbers, but assuming the manufacturer did this is true)

Dude i can guarantee, Again the studs are designed by a well known company that has build 1000hp honda motors. Their aluminum blocks are the same quality aluminum as ours. the only difference is the open deck vs closed deck but again this has no play in the design of the studs. they bottom out in the block like they are supposed to. You torque the studs into the block to 10ft lbs then follow the rest of the torque sequence.

Hell if a stock sr20 rr block can handle 572whp then i think my fully build block can handle that much as well. At least id hope so. I dont have plans to go that high any time soon but maybe in the future. But i built it for reliability during higher hp applications.

Neways torque to their specs. they use very very good specs and well matched for our blocks and the cosworth headgasket with head studs way outperformed the stock headgasket and many other gaskets they tested.

The new ARPs are 105lbft! I can't wait for next season. I'll get rid of this cometic gasket and arp studs. They have been good to me, but I want 1000hp now. Jk.

Now if we could also machine the block with Spiralock patented wedge ramp threading along with those Honda head bolts, that would be the ticket. NASA uses this on some their space satellites.

Having read this thread anyone want a brand new set of ARP head studs NIB? These are for the RWD SR but I'm sure they'll work for FWD and AWD SR, right? Sorry to jack this thread.
Me want Golden Eagle.. ;o)

Mazworx has also just finished their new stock size head studs that bottom out in the block as well, the mazworx ones are made from the same material as the arp2000 bolts so they are bit stronger metal than the golden eagles but either one would be a great substitution to the arp's

^I just saw that on the old board. That thread almost got heated a little bit.
