So im running the GTI-R oil pump which is basicly same volume flow as the VE but doesnt maintain as high of a pressure up top. But still alot better than the de/det ones. Way better. Basicly it is very close to the VE pump as far as everything goes and yes i do feel its worth it. With that much power you want as much oiling as possible because any slack in it can result in a spun bearing or worse siezed bearing and throw the rod. I feel alot more comfortable knowing i will have more than enough oil flow and pressure to keep the bearings very well lubricated.

Its definetly worth the 300 bucks and it comes with the aluminum pulley as well just like the ve one. The pump was a must in my book and probably one of the more important pieces to the build. The de/det ones just wont keep up with the power and revs even though im only reving to 8k rev limiter. But these studs should be very very well off mixed with my cosworth 1.5mm headgasket. Hell yeah. Ill be having the block and head resurfaced thats why i opted for the thicker gasket. Other than that everything else is pretty basic.

You are my hero. B16 vtech studs are going in my new motor for next season! Thank you so much ashton!

The GTIR pump flows almost as well as the VE pump, but you can see the design differences. The VE pump looks to be really amazing for high rev motors. I will keep the GTiR one because it works almost as good. I would expect it to cavitate earlier than the VE one but honestly, that won't happen until really really high rpm anyway.

the Golden Eagle B16 headstuds are on backorder, and they might even be out of production. I called around to quite a few places to try to purchase a set. I would contact the ebay seller, to make sure they actually have them in stock before sending out the funds.

yep, i got mine off ebay, took about a week to get them in after buying them, got them for 116 shipped. Ebay is the way to go, they usually have them in stock and they are still in production but they are cheap and hondas most reliable and usuable head stud. Thats probaby why they are on backorder.

Golden Eagle Mfg.’s Head Stud kits have the following features:
· Made from 4340 material heat treated to 180 KSI minimum
· Hex broach in top of stud for easy install
· Dog point bottom for thread & block stress relief
· Untouched finish on threads for more accurate torque values
· Optimized diameter on body of studs offer a much stiffer clamping force for extreme turbo and high RPM applications
· Kits come complete with precision 12 pt. nuts, hardened washers and detailed installation instructions
· These kits use original OEM torque specs so there is no block distrotion like other main stud manufacturers!
· Kits have been race proven and tested to WELL over 1000 WHP!!!

^I'm going to order me a set. I just set the eBay seller a message to see if they are in stock.

What would be the torque specs with this ones? Do they stretch just like the stock ones? (TTY)

I would look up stock specs for the honda blocks and compare to our torque specs. I'd be surprised if they weren't TTY studs...

they use their own torque spec, you use the factory sequence but thier spec which is as follows:

install stud into block and make sure threads in block are clean and free of debri, tighten to 10 ft-lbs of torque.

install gasket and head

coat the stud threads, nuts and washers in the supplied lube, and tighten in factory sequence to 25 ft-lbs, then to 50 ft-lbs, then loosen in reverse order 1/2 turn on each nut and retighten to 50 ft-lbs, repeat two more times (3 total loosen then tighten) this is to mate the threads to the block and nuts for a perfectly accurate torque reading on the final torque. then go from 50 ft-lbs to a final torque of 72 ft-lbs of torque.

Now you are ready for some serious power.

I wold like to know for sure to what specs I should torque the Golden Eagle B16 Studs to hold over 500whp on a SR20 because i know that probably Golden Eagle suggest to torque them to B16 factory specs or close to them... But SR20 Head torque specs are way different than B16...
