What to Buy? Serban, don't comment lol.
Already know what you are going to say about this thread. *What, now you want to go turbo, you don't know what you want to do, selling it, keeping it, vvl, turbo, what next?*

Anyways, guys, let me fill you in on my current situation. I have my one and only daily driven 1996 200sx SE-R. Stock USDM SR20de. Now, I sold all my parts (t25 kit) that I was going to slap on the USDM motor. Well, now all I have is the Fuel Pump, FPR and couple gauges. Back to square one. I wanted to do VVL because of the reliability factor but I know people who have turbo charged cars that run daily driven and are perfectly safe. I've always wanted a turbo charged car and keeping in mind my funds as a college student. I would baby the car like I do now when I drive it, low boost if I was to go turbo route.

My question and advice needed from you guys is, what motor/turbo should I get? Bluebird, GTIR, etc. etc. DAILY DRIVER is key. LMK peoples.

Why not go VE like you had planned on?

Then when you get bored, you can go VE+T.

ANY combination can be suitable for daily. It all depends on how well you MAINTAIN your car.

O, I keep it maintained Tekkie lol. Will be posting updated pictures of her new slight facelift. The exterior is maintained the same as the interior and heart.

IDK if I want to go VE+T or no. DONT KNOW! AAAH

BABY STEPS.

It generally helps me to write things down on paper, and then list pros and cons of each item I list.

The key is to do things slowly and surely. Not just wham bam thank you ma'am. Think of what your significant other would say if you just hopped on, did your business, and left? You're guaranteed to be sleeping on the couch.

If you just run through, choosing the route to take your car, you're sure to be sitting on the curb somewhere.

Don't be anxious!

You are right, that is why my decision hasn't been finalized yet and I am trying to get the opinions from the community alone. I am more anxious then in a rush because I just want to the car to be done, but at the same token, to be done the right way, reliable, quick, and a fun driving experience. The suspension side is done for now, the exterior is basically done except for maybe lucino grill and some JDM badges, and the interior just needs the electronics installed like the gauges and other necessary equipment. So now the heart is left and my biggest concern at this point.

Will see what tomorrow brings when people see this post.

So you suggest go VE and later T when ready.

Personally I have never driven a VE powered car just a BB t25 powered NX but I have no seconds thoughts about it 4 years or so and 50k+ miles later.

The stuff that has gone bad oil pump, t-stat, CV boots, some coolant hose, oil, spark plugs, coolant, brake pads, rotors and alternator (as you can see not much turbo related just common wear stuff). The only other stuff is just stuff I have broken on while trying to fix other stuff through stupidity or inexperience.

I like the sounds of VE and when your ready for boost, boost it. that way u could have a strong running car and collect turbo parts at the same time

I started out with a W11 Avenir motor. I wouldn't suggest a GTi-R motor; parts are different than most SR20's. Your best bet is to get a true W11 engine (ball bearing T25) and slap her in (make sure it has the BB turbo though, or else it probably is a W10). I stayed on my stock setup for about six months, then put on a bigger turbo, intake manifold, and some other ****e and now I'm happier. You can be plenty happy with stock boost off a W11.

To me it is easier to swap on a VVL head later on then having to change internals for lower compression if I went VVL then turbo (just me).
