Thread: stock det rods and pistons

ok so my brother and i are planning to boost our vvl. our plan is to make about 400whp or so. is this a realistic number using stock det rods and pistons and if not what is a safe number on those internals?

Friend of mine just made 376whp on a bone stock DET with a t3 setup and 1000cc injectors. No arp head bolts or nothing. Been beating it for almost like a month like that. Before that he beat that motor on a disco setup with like 550cc injectors on 18lbs. I'd say...realistically YES. Theres always the possibility of something breaking though. Cant compair to other motors. Some take it better than others.
