The turbo saga continues... had a s14 t28 under the radar, when i lost it for a day or so... damn... never hesitate, when it appears jump on it... my advice to you all, specially if it´s rare...

So on the market for a used turbo again... when i speak to a friend that has an almost new WRX td05H-16g sitting on his garage for 2 years, and is willing to sell to me dirt cheap... hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So the search went on and that what i found out:

The turbo is rated at 350bhp/580cfm VS 390cfm(S14) 465cfm(.86 GTIR t28), so big turbo like i want to... good size for a 2.0

The specs are:

48ind/68exd compressor .49a/r VS 47ind/60exd compressor .60a/r (gti-r t28)
49ind/56exd turbine 7cm2(=0.49a/r) VS 47ind/53exd turbine .86a/r (gti-r t28)

So a bit bigger turbine and compressor wheels than a gti-r t28 but with smaller a/r´s... what that translate in a real world situation? less top end?(due to smaller a/r´s)

The flange is no problem, as i don´t mind fabricating an adapter plate and other parts, in fact i quite like the challenge...

I'd jump all over a baby 16g. It's a definite upgrade over the Td04 that comes on stock WRX's.

Take the 16g for sure, and then build a flange. WAY more worth it than the Td04 you had initiall asked about.

Cool cool... i know they´re reliable, just wondering how it will mate to a sr20, when it will start making boost, peak and run out...

Just look up any standard Greddy baby 16g SR build and you'll find your answers. They're good to about 350whp. Pretty strong little guy for sure.

Morgans432 has a brother that had a 16g mounted to his SR in a B13 SE-R. Car was quick even with a shit tune.

Pretty sure it was a 16g? It may have been an 18g, in which case you should disregard my post.

always do!!

i'm pretty sure it's a 18g, IIRC Greddy only makes the TD05H-18g, T517, TD518z with a T2 flange.

pics of the 18g

Greddy also makes the TD05-16g that bolts right in to a VG30dett, meaning T2 flanged 3 bolt.
