Issue is this turbo wants more revs. At 9800 the power was still sitting at peak and still going. This turbo would love to see 10.5k or so but thats more stress on the motor internally. And to make it more reliable to those revs requires some serious cash such as the dry sump/external oil pump and so on. So better idea is to just move power down in the powerband with a smaller turbine housing turbo. Or just make more power with this while still keeping the revs down but that still leaves me with somewhat of a short powerband.
We will see where I will go from here once i inspect the damage.
I think the block should be fine, from my experience the the rod bearings are always the first to go and the mains suffer less but, every case is different. I really hope it's just a crank and bearing swap. If you run out of time send me the block and parts and I'll assemble it for free while you are gone..
Its very rare to have crushed the main bearings but with oil pressure lost, anything can happen. But yes very rarely have main bearings cause damage to the journals. If it has, then the motor is done.
Good luck and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
I purchased my ACL Race bearings from you guys. 5 hole mains in standard and 19mm gtir bearings in standard, non coated on both and the thrust bearings as well.

I know you are good, just send the bill to your celeb dad.lol
Well the good news is the block is fine. No mains spun at all. Although they had some serious wear on them from no oil. When I pulled the pump off and opened it up. The gear was frozen in the pump. It was not cracked or broken but definitely not turning as it should. So dont know exactly what happened if the gear warped or oblonged itself or something but it definitely either lost oil pressure or had severely low pressure. The pan had bearing shavings all in it.
I went rod rod to another when i took them off and when i got to the #3 i knew something was up as one bolt was loose. I could barely turn the bolts because the rod cap was so out of round. Once i got it loose there was nothing left of the bearing. What was left of it was welded to the crank and in the pans. The rod cap was discolored and got very hot very fast.
All other rods bearings and rods were fine. #3 was the only one that spun. The rod cap was so bad it definitely stretched the bolts from hitting soo. The motor will have to come completely apart. Hopefully the piston didnt contact the head but i dont think it did.
So all in all, I need to replace the pump, all bearings, crank, one Crower custom rod, and one headgasket and all should be good. So not too bad as i have everything but the rod, bearings and headgasket. Ugh. But at least the block is fine.
