If you cut corners to save a few hundred dollars here and there then you are just screwing yourself. You'll spend more than that just fixing those things you skimped on and the things they've damaged. If you don't want to take the time to do it right or don't want to spend the money, don't try to build a high power car.

Oh it will be there. No worries about that. I planned my entire 2 months off of work to do this build and make it to the convention. Definitely gonna bring some serious heat to Ohio. Be ready.

Yeah I was debating on keeping my old manifold and small 38mm gate but with the deal I got on the gate from Eric and new custom manifold from DOC Race, I figured why not.

This motor is gonna be as solid as they get. The only thing i didnt do was stud the bottom end but from what ive read and researched the gtir main bolts are almost just as strong as the studs and dont have to worry about line boring the block and sizing up bearings. I wanted to keep it simple yet insanely strong as possible. Ive yet to see an SR blow a crank out the bottom end either so Im pretty sure ill be alright with the upgraded GTIR main bolts.

Using the best of the best everywhere in the motor so cant say i skimped out anywhere.

Well after much debate. I think im gonna bite the bullet and purchase the AEM AQ-1 Logger and harness. The AEM EMS Series 1 that im using just doesnt have enough inputs to log everything that I want to log. I would have been left with logging a/f from my AEM wideband gauge and my fuel pressure from my AEM gauge but tapped into the EGT1 port and it wouldnt not be readable in pressure.

Im using AEM gauges for my a/f, fuel pressure, oil pressure and backpressure. The AQ-1 logger after doing much research on it is a great piece for small pricetag. It has the ability to log up to 8 inputs and has built in pre calibrations for all the aem stuff that im using so makes setup easy and quick. Also has a built in 3-Axis Acclerometer for logging G's during acceleration braking and well the ones that i wont be using it lateral G's and vertical G's. Also has the ability to accept a GPS for speed input. Also has the ability to connect to the AEM EMS and log parameters from there as well. So a one stop logging and data collection device.

My DOC Race T4 turbo manifold came in today with my JGS 50mm wastegate and flange already welded onto the manifold. Manifold like i said is positioned down about an 2" lower to help clear the huge BW turbo under the hood and also angled towards the front some to clear the compressor housing on the motor as well. Looks like everything will clear perfectly and its a work of art. Cant say enough how great it looks. Cant wait. And again a huge thanks to Eric for the JGS gate. Ill get pics of it up later along with more pics of the manifold.

More pics to come later today.

what exhaust flange did they use looks like its going to need some good port work done to it.

Keep it going man as much crap as I give you I want to see you flying down the track for the community.

Its going to get port work done. Its a det flange. Im going to open it up a bit more to match the gasket and the stud holes to match the head as well as port match the head to the gasket as well. Should flow really really well. From the looks of it, the ports are pretty good size. They use 1 1/2" ID thick wall tubing on all their manifolds. They have some det's with their manifolds making in the 800-900rwhp range. Just need to do a bit of work to it. They didnt have any VE flanges.
