Thread: Year 3 no cold idle, checklist help PLEASE!

With the key in the on position, I just put the multimeter on the both iacv solenoid harness pigtails. They both have power.

If I found a geenie in a bottle I'd first wish to know the answer to any question! THAT would solve this damn no cold idle issue!!!!!! I'd then know the winning lottery numbers for life as well, lol!!!

Testing for power on the idle valve plugs isn't definitive in any way I don't think. =(

Hey, crazy question. Does your door chime work? Keys in the on position, door open, you hear chime?

HA! Funny you should ask Ben, Last night I actually thought of something similar to maybe what you're thinking. My door ajar light is always on cause when me and my buddy removed the door to cut out the rot from the pillar, we didn't do the greatest job hanging it back up straight. So thinking along the lines as possibly some safety thing, with the door wide open, I pushed the button to trigger the door ajar light off while turning the key...nothing new happened.

Just now going outside to get the exact rundown, here's my finding....
Door wide open key on: 4 beeps
Finger pushing door button key on: 4 beeps
Button, release, button (mimic entering vehicle) key on: 4 beeps
Door open, button in or out, lights on: 4 beeps
Key removed, door open, lights on: constant beep
Key removed, lights on, push button: no beep

Whatcha thinking Ben!?!

If it at all matters, air bag light is on. I removed the front sensor...it was in the way of my Knight Rider LED light bar:rofl

The door chime is on the same fuse as the idle control valve. I was just checking to see if it was a blown fuse.

Damn, thought maybe you had the one thing overlooked :-( thank you though Ben for your continued effort and thought in attempt to help me. Thank you to everyone else with input as well. This problem persists and I'll imagine this thread becomes a sticky if someday there ever is a resolution.

I shall soon enough attempt an ecu swap. Just maybe calum zapped something when making my ecu, I hope not :-/

Just leaving work...See, my AFR's are leaned out when I first turn the key. As she warms up she fattens up till finally shes warm and she'll idle with AFR's steady at and around 13.5-14.0.
