Need help fast!!!!!!
So my car is at a shop getting a new intercooler setup. The shop is asking me about the large gose that comes from the intake mani below the throttle body on my high port. I have it going to the charge pipe about 6-7n inches away from the TB. I think that large hose goes to the AIC valve?? the guy at the shop says they usually run that to the intake pipe?? Can someone help me figure this out please. The car has had the old setup on it for 7 years like this. So has it been setup wrong this whole time ( might explain the surging idle it likes to do ) ??? or can you do it both ways??

I have always had mine on the piping like your is and have never had an issue, probably should be on the intake pipe, but like I said, I've never had an issue.

No, its supposed to go to your cold side charge pipe about 6 to 7 inches from the throttle body like you have it. You would have a massive boost leak if you put it any other way. Nissan put it on the chargepipe for a reason. And im pretty sure nissan and everyone on here that has done turbo setups is smarter than the guy at that shop doing the piping.

Yes that would be for the AIC/IACV. I have mine set up that same way as well.

doh, good point about the boost leak.

I wouldn't let those fools touch my car, lol.

Your surging idle is probably a dirty IACV or a vac leak somewhere else.

Its a very quality shop and they do great work. But they are not real familiar with SR's. I'm asking about this because he needed to know if he had to weld on a piece for the hose on to go to the mani or not. They have done alot of turbo hondas and I think they run it to the intake pipe. He was just asking not telling me what to do.

I never had stock piping. The kit I put on 7years ago was a custom setup.

basically you want metered air to stay metered and unmetered air to become metered...if that makes sense. Anything after the MAF needs to be recirculated after the maf and anything before the maf needs to stay before the maf.

TBH I'm really surprised that the guy doing the piping couldn't look at the setup and figure it out...

Ok here is how it went down. I dropped the car off at the shop and we are going over what all he is doing for me and I'm under the hood pointing things out. I say " You need to weld on a nipple for this large hose that goes to the intake mani" He asks me " What is it for?" I say " AIC valve I think" He says " We usually run those to the intake pipe" I say " Well let me check with the guys on the forum" He says cool let me know. Guys they do bad ass work. It was just a simple question. He wouldn't add the nipple to the charge pipe and then hook the hose to the intake as some of you are thinking. He's not an idiot. Geezzz
