boost96 yeah ill think ill ride out the motor like it is for now and look into a sr20ve whenever my current motor goes, what kind cost are we talking for a stock sr20ve i dont see many for sell.

kevwal im going to to just leave it all stock and go with i usually dont abuse the motor that much and when u pulled the head cams and everything looked brand new not bad for a motor that almost 20 years old lol. im guessing a sr20ve head and gtir block it a pretty nasty set up.

well i think thats a good idea, no sense on changing motors at this moment if it is running fine. I was just getting the ve head at first and having the valve springs/retainers upgraded but then my engine blew and just wanted a freshly built sr20ve motor to start over with. About the price, it really depends who you purchase it from, as they are listed on ebay between around $700-900 if i recall correctly and have some on the forum every once in a while. However, there is always that chance that the motor may look good on the outside and be completely different internally. This is why I would suggest purchasing from a reputable source such as Andreas Miko who sells good sr20ve motors for around $1000.

If I were you, I would just get the sr20ve head, slap in some valve springs & retainers and you got a bad ass engine that can rev up to 9000 rpm if u desire With those ve cams, it should assist with spooling that 6262 turbo and definitely increasing your power. Other than that, the only way I see you making more power with your current setup is increasing the amount of boost you are running and optimizing your tune.

yeah that built head iv got laying around has those bc dual spring and retainers from brian crower that run like $430 they are are pretty heavy duty so i could use those. Iv heard the ve cams are nasty but would u run those instead of the bc stage 3s?

so why havent you used that built gtir head as yet? I think the sr20ve cams would be just fine, seen a few people make big numbers on them so don't think they would need to be changed.
