Holset HY35?
Anyone running a Holset HY35? I'm planning on getting one within the next few days. I'm also planning on using a log manifold with that turbo. Will I have any clearance issues? I don't have access to a log manifold to try it out. Trying to put a setup together on a budget.

i have a hx40 but the hy35 is a great turbo. The 9cm housing isnt as bulky as the hx35 12cm housing. it should spool relatively fast for its size as do all holsets

Do you know if it will work with a log manifold as far as clearance goes.

I have a DET which is probably the same thing. I don't want to spend money on a manifold just to find out it won't fit. Do you have pics of your setup?

Na bro. Not worth the money. This kit will cost less than buying a new 2871r.

Have you tried any Holset setup yourself?? Have you any facts to base your opinions on??

As far as I know, Holsets turbos are quiet the contrary.........

To the original question. I know that on a protect Log Mani and a T3/TO4E 57 trim (A/R on compressor is bigger than .63 but the true numbers escape me), has a few mm between the upper radiator support and the compressor housing.

If you can find the dimension of the compressor/turbine housing on which Holset you are planning to use, you can compare the sizes to above setup (I am not sure of Holset dimensions myself...........But from what I have seen in the Honda/DSM world, they are fantastic turbos)

I run a holset on one of my cars and have had it on my sr. Spools fast and hard baby. I'm now running a larger borg Warner and it spools just as fast just flows a lot more air.
