Thread: whats more aggressive? what axles support?

hey a few questions i am about to buy a heavy duty ceramic clutch from clutchmaster and i was wondering which one would be more aggressive a six prug or a four prug clutch?

also how much power can the stock axles handle? would they be able to support 400 hp or would i have to upgrade those as well. if so what would you guys recommend.

OEM axles can support 400whp. Torque breaks things, not horsepower.

As far as more aggressive clutch discs? A six puck has more surface area, and is less aggressive in bite than a 4 puck. Unsprung discs are more aggressive than sprung hub discs. Depends on material the disc is made of, the pressure plate, and the flywheel.

and the axles wont have any problems till 400whp

a 4 puck unsprung woud be more aggressive, then 4 puck sprung, then 6 puck unsprung, then 6 puck sprung. as far as aggressive to non aggressive. of course they are more aggressive over stock so...

400whp or more depending on the driving and weather or not you are preloading power, just ripping on the power you may break something, like cliff said, torque breaks not hp

OK yea im not a fan of lanching my car and as far as sprung or unsprung which would be better as far as being daily driven?

i run the fx400 6 puck sprung, i have been running anywhere between 7lbs to 24lbs on it, pedal feel is great for daily, its a bit siffer than stock, but nothing extreme after break in.

to me the 6 puck sprung is a superb clutch as it holds great and has a great pedal feel.

what kinda power are you looking to run?

i had the fx400 on my b16 turbo, with the 4 puck unsprung, found it too aggressive for my liking, to me it defiintly wasnt a daily drivers clutch, more so a track clutch

Im also running the fx400 and the clutch pedal is pretty close to stock. Definitely a clutch you can dd the car with and one that wont kill your leg. Engangement isnt harsh and shifts are smooth unlike the majority of 6 puck clutches out there.

what kkinda power are you looking to make? the fx300 carbon kevlar is a pretty good clutch too.

im looking to get 350 whp but if i make 350 hp that would be good to
