Thread: 2.2-2.3l det?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? How big of a Forged piston can I stuff in there with the stock crank and a bored out hug?

I have a DET hug sitting here. I have no plans to go VE. So Im thinking of Boring out my Spare DET hug and making a big bore DET if I can do it with a machine shop cheaply.

They say 90mm is pushing it...see what you can do with it.

Exactly, you can already make as much power as you want on stock bore.

I've got a spare hug sitting in the garage that will eventually be tested on it's limits as well johnny. Just have to order some pistons before I can take it to the machine shop. One of those go big or go home deals.

What's the downfall of a harmed and hugely bored motor stratton?

Over 90mm you might have issues with hg sealing properly with small area between bores with harm.

it would have to have a lot more low end grunt though wouldn't it? I mean before you reach full harm, and for that matter you'd just make more power more easily across the whole board.
