VET or VE+T?

The original 2.0 was a DE+T block that I added a VE head on after a few years.

I am now running a 2.2L 11:1 VET.

So you have no experience with a turbo engine running VE pistons?

Yes I have put together and tuned a bunch of them.

The latest was Dave from NY.

Bone stock VE, Log mani, small T3.

They all average between 280-410hp.

Pistons do not matter. 95% of the motors that blow up on here are because of tuning error. DETONATION kills cast pistons. Especially RR and VE style.

Look at JP and other guys who are not on the forum. They make over 400hp on stock VE pistons for extended periods of time.

No issues with reversion?

08-18-2011 Update: For searching reasons thought I would post this, I am getting serious reversion issues. To the point that switching cams is pointless. This is on a 20ve cams and Protech log manifold with a T31 wheel.

It kills me that people still think that high compression motors on boost will not do well. High compression boost is somthing that most people do. You will net more power and lower boost levels. With all the tuning options and fuel options out these days high compression boost is the way to go.

A stock VE like Jamie mentioned will run and hold pretty much anything the average guy can throw at it as long as the tuning is on point.

A log manifold will work just fine on a VE. Is it the #1 option? No... but, it will work fine. I have seen many VE-T cars with log manifolds that make great power and run great.

Check this post out: http://www.sr20-forum.com/540775-post20.html

I was going to settle with a Log, but I might have to change my plans...

I wouldn't consider that a "Bone Stock VE" then . Maybe if 20VE cams where as cheap as the 91intake cam then maybe...
