mine didnt require any grinding, im running the 3'' inlet, however im also running a cstom log manifold that puts the turbo away from the block however with that beingsaid it doesnt allow much clearence between the turbo and the radiator. so its a trade off

I'm pretty sure grinding somewhere will happen regardless of housing unless you go w/the shaving, but that will probably offset your downpipe I'd assume.

Not true the TO4E housing clears due to the 2.75" inlet. Its the compressor inlet that hits the block.

I am truth Because I said some grinding will have to be done and due to the inlet hitting the block -- thus grinding will have to be done thus I'm in the true.

Get the flange milled I believe .352" of an inch and you will be able to fit a 3" intake with NO grinding. I currently just fitting my setup and didn't have to do any grinding at all. I'll get a pictures as soon I get a chance. Here are the pictures of my intake thru th bottom. As you can see the block nor tranny needed any grinding at all. I will be truthful though without the grinding it will pretty difficult to get the intake tightened with the clamp, but I can give you good instructions on how to get it done, its pretty easy. Here you go:

So you have it milled at an angle or .352" taken off the flat flange itself? Why not have .177 taken off each the exhaust inlet for the turbine housing and .177 taken off the outlet of the turbo manifold?

It was milled flat. I don't why it wasn't split between the two, manny and turbo inlet. Its one of those things that just gets done and thats it. I am pretty sure it was .352" that was milled, its a bit after halfway thru the flange.
