Thread: clutch option opinions please

i know this has been greatly discussed but i am going to continue to beat this horse. whether it be my clutch or a leaky rear main seal, or a combo of both, i need a new clutch. the one im running didnt last much more than 10,000 miles. my setup: t25, fmic, s4's, fresh block with 8.5:1, 550's, walbro, port + polish, 38mm tial, fidanza 8.5lb flywheel, short throw shifter, realtime all @ 12-14psi.....i honestly forget what my original clutch is but it was suppose to have been able to hold up. guess not, she slips and lets off real high while the cable is now fully adjusted.

questions? opinions? suggestions? personal experience please, thanks

Anything from clutchmasters. I'm dailying a fx500 unsprung four puck. Their pressure plates are fantastic. Tremendous holding with a stock pedal feel.

I say JWT, just based on others experiences. Personally, I have a Clutchnet Type1x PP with 6 puck sprung disc. It has stood up to slicks and hours of tuning abuse over 240lbft. It feels a little loose these days, and I suspect that it may pop a spring at some point soon. It has never come close to slipping though, in over 10k miles or hard use. Pretty much all smaller companies clutches are "re-badged". Can you name one who's isnt? Is there a problem with clutchmasters? I have yet to hear of anyone having a problem with a JWT clutch. I'm not JWT fanboy by any means, but lots of people with high torque seem to use them with no issues. Can you present a problem? or just whine that the are rebadged?

i must say the clutchmasters have some of the best pedal feel, it feels a little stiffer than stock, however not much, and thats really nice when you have aalmost stock feel at 350-450whp

maybe im confused guys, but in investigating, none of the fx clutches are avail for an sr20 on the clutchmaster website.

Didnt know JWT were rebranded clutchmasters ( not that its a bad thing ) Cool. I was running a JWT PP w/B15 disc and now with my T25 setup I am keeping the PP but going with a sprung 6 puck ACT. Hoping for a nice pedal feel and be able to hold up some track time.
