Just "Get 'R Done" If you were going to push that turbo than I would say swap bottom ends but for what you are doing, the stock VE has so many pluses and I don't really see any minuses with your setup. Certain setups would benifit from the DET bottom end but for you, I do not see any reason at all to do it. I guess you wouldn't have to tap the block, lol, but will have to do a headswap and run external oil lines.

is that attributed to just the 4CW crank and the compression ratio? or are there any other factors that come into play?

I would say that is about it really, it won't be much different but enough to notice possibly. I am assuming you weren't refering to the getting it done quicker part, lol.

If I were to do anything I would drop the DET rods and pistons in the VE block rather than do a hybrid because you will only have to do the rod, pistons and bearings with of course a headgasket rather than run oil lines and swap oil pumps.

That's what I'm leaning towards too. But only after I have issues. Because the small items is what racks up the cost ($75 head gasket, $100 piston rings, $40 bearings, etc.)

Not sure yet, I might gut it and part it out. Save the pistons and rods for the VE

Thats what I'm talkin about, seems like you are going to go with what I suggested You won't be disappointed and it will be reliable enough that if it were me I would sell the DET complete and get the most money I could for it. I think it is worth more complete but if you figured out that you can part it out and feel like going through that hassle and make close to it than go for it. Good luck, you are going to love this setup

Well I'm still afraid not having a bullet proof block, but I'll just have to keep my timing finger low

Well it depends on if someone can pickup the DET block. No way I'm gonna ship it. .

I also want the oil cooler, and side mounted oil filter (I hate RR's oil filter location, dunno if VE is any better).

Once I get the VE in I'll know for sure on what will need to be scavenged from the DET (if anything).

It is all good stuff to have around if you don't need it to fund your project. The VE block is not bulletproof but it doesn't need to be you are only shooting paintballs at it LOL

Hey my paintball guns are fairly powerful, especially my LEO Pepperball gun at 480 fps! But of course we don't shoot that high in paintball :-D.

But selling the O2 induction mani should fund the VE mostly
