Dang $650 and they have 100% rating. That's no small feat for an engine retailer.

Well that's a bidding price on their website its $750. I am finding a good number of complaints though.

Oh this is the reason you buy from eBay. If they stick you, eBay will give you your money back no problem.

Well while the site was down purchased a VE. The engine doesn't look clean on the outside, but at least they are showing the actual pictures. This way I know exactly what I see in this auction.

and now deep thoughts with Jack Handy
what are we calling the DET bottom end with VE head?

DET+V or VE+DET?

because VET is already taken with that SUV motor and VE(T) is a VE with a turbo kit..

"DET/VE Hybrid" would probably be the best solution vqman.

Vadim, nice choice on the ve. I am now thinking about going this route as well. But do you guys think a small turbo setup like a t25 will choke the ve? Sorry for jacking the thread Vadim.

I didnt read anyone's response.

So I was thinking about a license plate that says G20DET, but now it would have to be G20VET. So people would think I survived the G20 battle, or I G20 is some animal

Yeah might go that route. I personally want to tap the block and just run it as is for now. Car has been down for way too long.

Well the 20V comes with a T25 like turbo, so something to keep in mind . But from what I'm getting T28 will be chocking it a bit...

You will make more hp, have it done quicker and get better gas mileage out of boost with the stock ve rather than the hybrid. Add in the fact that you won't have to buy a head gasket and oil lines, not be able to sell the det to get back some of the money, won't have to deal with assembeling anything and the VE will take 12 psi from an external gated T28 all day. Just "Get 'R Done" If you were going to push that turbo than I would say swap bottom ends but for what you are doing, the stock VE has so many pluses and I don't really see any minuses with your setup. Certain setups would benifit from the DET bottom end but for you, I do not see any reason at all to do it. I guess you wouldn't have to tap the block, lol, but will have to do a headswap and run external oil lines.
