That is true, lol. Since that is the case keep what you need from the DET. 12 Psi from a T28 externally gated is almost like shooting nerf balls not even paint balls... I was wrong. If you feel like you still need a safety window or want to run higher boost from time to time, get a water/meth injection kit, still easier to install than pulling a head and throwing in rods and pistons and will probably yield better results. I would just stick to the 12psi plan but I mean if you want extra insurance, there are other ways besides internal modifications.

Oh yeah water/meth does sound good. I remember reading about it and how simple it is to get it installed. I might just have it going simply for very hot days .

Well it depends on if someone can pickup the DET block. No way I'm gonna ship it. .

I also want the oil cooler, and side mounted oil filter (I hate RR's oil filter location, dunno if VE is any better).

Once I get the VE in I'll know for sure on what will need to be scavenged from the DET (if anything).

Sorry for the noob question, but what "oil cooler". I recently got a W11 and I didn't see an oil cooler or any lines for one?

The round drum thing under the intake manifold.

I'm trying to avoid puck clutches. I guess we'll see how the B15 SE disc holds up. Lower torque should help a lot.

^^^ Thanks. Just curious, why not install the O2 intake manifold, and see what kind of mileage you get, before any swap?

At least you'll have a base line for comparison of return on dollars/time spent, as in DET+ O2 manifold = X mpg vs VE+T = X mpg.

I agree with you, mileage and dependability are the biggest factors in any upgrades.

After losing my first engine to piston slap I bought a DET because of the oil squirter piston coolers and sodium filled exhaust valves. I'd like to switch my DET head for a VE head but, for me, there is no advantage to a VE bottem end that out weighs the bullet proof dependability Nissan designed into the DET bottom end.

Oh the reason is, I have the engine out of the car right now. I don't want to have to spend time and money on one swap to have to do another you know? This is why I am contemplating on doing a head swap, but I'll take totaled200ser word for VE being reliable enough for my goals.

It needs a good cleaning, so I'll be pulling the intake manifold and exhaust manifold off and doing a minor polish
