is there any dyno sheets from the Bc brand, mast i hear about cams on here are the jwt s3 an s4s...but ya know theres like a 200$ diff. i was wondering if jwt's were just more supirior to BC's???

But if they pull harder as Greenmachine says...BC may be the way to go... greenmachine if you dyno your new set up plzzz post up the sheets

The reason why JWT cams are more often than not the chosen brand, is because of the R&D that went into the cams they push out. That translates to higher costs, because of the money spent on R&D.

BC Cams, according to some people, weren't really put thru as much R&D as JWT's, and were basically copied from other manufacturer's designs. Thus, the cheaper prices.

Personally, I refuse to get into the debate between which is better, anymore. They are both good cam manufacturers, for what they're worth.

cool thanks TeKKiE.

another question...

in BC website it sayst the stage3's are more for the strip and you need your ecu tuned for max pef. and on jwt's site it says their s3's are more street/strip and can run stock but the s4's from jwt sound more along the lines of the Bc stage 3's

i compared the lift and durationof the s3 and s4 form jwt and the stage 3 for BC and BC has quiet a bit more lift than the s4 and a little more dur. but the stage 2 has around thesame dur as the s4 but the stage 2 still has more lift. i think i found my answer but....im not quiet sure....

Well, JWT cams don't require upgraded springs or retainers, due to the lift profile. If you run BC STG 2's, it's recommended to have the S/R kit, and if you go with BC STG 3's, the motor will not turn over without S/R kit.

Cams are drop in power, for the most part. Just like anything else, if you want to extract the maximum power potential, you would need to tune the car.

BC STG 2's are fine for the street, I ran them daily. Just picked up a set of STG 3's, so only time will tell how well these run on the street

^You are the first person that I have heard say this......I guess you could get them to be safe, but I don't think they are really recommended for the BC2's.............Even slowboy said you don't really need these for the BC2's......Jen36 has the BC2's and I talked to him about them and he is running stock s/r's and takes his car to REDLINE all day long with NO problem.......The BC3's need the s/r kit though.......I'm getting the BC2's for my daily and i'll be running stock s/r's.

SR20TurboFreak, was the one that recommended I utilize the S/R kit with the BC STG 2 cams, due to the aggressiveness (sp?) of the lobes. I trust what he has to say, as he's not only sold these cams in mass quantities, but he's also played with MANY different types of cams, both DE and VE, as well as numerous other automaker's aftermarket cams.

If you plan on using the STG 2 cams to their potential (revving the hell out of your motor to 8500 without flinching), then S/R kit is a must. If you have a stock rev limit, then I wouldn't see the need for the S/R kit as much, but like stated previously, they're recommeded. (Recommended also doesn't mean you HAVE to have them, that's why it's a recommendation. )

hey tekkie, do you think you can post another thread for your new cams? i would like to see the difference in power and driveability in the cams. im still saving money and barely buying my bolt ons for myself anyone else's build take this long to start? it gets frustrating looking for the right parts and time
