Thread: boost by gear & oil block

Two questions for you guys.

1. Is anyone running a boost by gear setup on an Apexi AVCR?
- Regardless of what unit you use how does the unit know what gear you are in? As far as I know the ECU only knows if your in gear or not, does it do a RPM vs speed calculation?

- Are there any other standalone units that will do boost by gear besides the AVCR?

2. I know they make bolt on blocks that replace the stock oil filter neck that turns it into two -AN fittings for a remote filter for the RWD SR20s do they have anything like this for the FWD crowd? If they don't would people be interested in them?

it uses rpm vs speed calculation. The boost by gear works ok, but i wasn't able to set mine up all the way because the AVCR i was using was old, and everything was in Japanese lol.

And I think Greg has a hookup for the oil distribution for external coolers, relocation etc.

The AEM does.

aem and several other stand alones do boost by gear. Gregv sells a full oil cooler kit and you can get the parts individually.
