Well the 850cc Sard injectors are cheaper than the nismo/hks/tomei 740cc injectors so that's why I'm interested in those. And would a "good manifold" include a top mount log manifold? I just really love the look of a top mount, but I do know it could limit the size of my downpipe cause the alternator is in the way. I may just go with a bottom mount in order to safely run a 3 inch downpipe.

good for 400whp?

Under your circumstances, this build seems a bit beneficial but don't let it affect you with school.
That list looks about right for your goals and it's about the cheapest you can do. I suppose you already have a decent intercooler setup(ebay intercooler will do just fine). Try to keep the list as short as possible 'cause when you think your almost done, the small things start piling up and you'll end up spending $2000 on the small things.

As long as you have a good tune, stock internals will handle that just fine. Even DE internals with a proper tune will handle that.

I have pretty much exactly what's on that list, the only thing I don't have is the turbo. I'm currently running a small T3 with a .48 exhaust side and a .60 intake side. I love that turbo for the almost instantaneous boost, but it's holding me back on making more power. I plan on getting a bigger turbo soon.

So here is my list:
Garrett T3 E.48 I.60 (was actually thinking about getting a HX35 too)
Protech log manifold and 3'' Protech downpipe
tial 38mm wastegate
vet headgasket
MSD 72lb / AEM fuel Reg
z32 maf
WhiteSE-R ecu (pretty much a CALUM but from a local guy)
Autometer wideband
Tial 50mm BOV

My engine is a JDM Highport 10.1 DE with stock 8.5 DET pistons and everything else is stock. I've already pushed 22psi on it with no problem, shouldn't need as much with the bigger turbo for my goals.

I also have a Mishimoto Rad and Mezeire Electric Waterpump, no AC, no power steering, aluminum pulleys, 3'' mandrel bend exhaust.

Since I pretty much have the setup you have in mind, when I do get the bigger turbo(in a couple of months) if you haven't started your build I'll let you know how it goes for me.

Awesome, I'd love to hear about it. Got any dyno sheets? What transmission are you running? Got any pics of your setup?

I'm kind of nervous about making this giant hx35 fit between the block/head and the radiator/core support. I read the compressor housing is 11 inches in diameter. I don't have over-heating problems now with the t25 and Mishimoto, but if I have to downgrade to a half radiator I might.

Read on cummins.com that the turbos 'width' is 250mm, which is 9.84 in. That's a big ole' turbo

Haha I know right. Can't wait to get my hands on one. Might have a part-time job working at National Tire and Battery. Basically I'll be their go-to guy, or bitch, when it comes to tires and alignments. Can't wait to get some money to get moving on this project. I just want me some freakin experience! And a fun car to boot.

Don't have any dyno numbers numbers right now, but plan on getting it up in a dyno when I upgrade the turbo. I have a stock tranny, that's the major thing holding me back, but I don't go to the track to often, I don't race much I just accelerate once in a while for my own amusement.

This is my car:

If I have fitment problems with the HX35 I will go with a different turbo, 'cause I don't want to change the manifold right know and don't plan on changing my Mishimoto either. Didn't have the new rad on those pics.

Looking at it now my small-ish T3 sits rather close to the block so fitting a big HX35 in there might be a problem.

Wow your car is nice. I like how you did the front bumper to show off the massive front mount. Looks like the turbo you have now could be nearly 10 inches.

Thanks, haven't really measured the turbo, it isn't too small but the exhaust side is.
