I remember about 8 years ago a friend ran into that problem and cut the tab and actually cut into the block/valve cover a lil bit, it fit and he never had a problem(we crossed our fingers back then and it worked... Im not suggesting you do this, but if you were building a manifold for this like said in a previous post: its all about the position of the flange.

I have the 6262 on a Protec Equal Length Manifold and would recommend it to anyone getting that turbo. More expensive, but the gains are worth it.

I cut that tab off on all my heads. What purpose does it serve on a boosted VE?

Take a cutoff wheel to it.
