Not true, my friend that owns Xact Dyno in Phoenix, Tim Kelly, has tuned multiple b series and k series motors to 400+whp on a gt28rs becasue of the superior head design.

Get the VE, it is a far better head, then have a hionda tuner tune it like they would a vtec turbo. Or take a q for nissan and disable the exh VVL. Your choice, you can do both and see what works better.

The VE head is the best flowing sr head period. Thats why Mazworx is using one on there s15 drag car they hope to hit 6's with, yeah 6's.

Do all the head work you want to a highport, will never flow as well as an equally modded or less modded VE head, thats just fluid dynamics. The math wont lie.

What great companies can make a de head flow better, Mazworx? They moved onto VE for their unlimtied drag car or whatever the class is called.

Shi , nissan even put the reason for more power and better drivability in the engine code, VE, volumetric what...

i just love to go against the grain...its obvious that the VE head is a great head, however i dont feel that a setup is going to be less superior without a VE head, im not running a VE head and i dont feel my motor is less superior just because i dont have a VE head. however i am running a reworked DET highport head with a great valve job and cams, and have seen great numbers thus far so, i guess in the end its just a matter of opinion

You can get a DE to perform similarly, but the head is still limited by port size and angle. The ve head flows great without work. If we are talking stock for stock, then a VE head is a good choice if you have the money to do it. You will spend a lot getting a DE head to flow as well, but that doesn't mean you will make more power with the VE in the end.

Look where I am, I can't make over 300whp on my VET on 10psi and there are guys doing that much on way smaller turbos then mine. You can't just say which head is better because it really depends on your setup. If you get a big turbo to make use of the VE head then it will do wonders. But the DE head and cams already work awesome for turbo no matter what size turbo is on there.

Both heads are great, I had a DET head that was just as good as a worked VE head. But a VE head can do so much more as long as you know what to do with it.

head flow means nothing without the right setup to take advantage of it. period.

Anyone can do port work on either head and it will both still be poo-poo if not done right. A worked DE/T head can out flow a stock VE head all over if done right. Both heads can flow well given you put a good amount of money in both heads. I had a GTiR head that was on par with a well done VE head also.

Point is, how much do you wanna spend?

This is true. ^ I had in my old black b13 bro that fully built de and it had p&p, angle job and s3's and it would out flow a stock ve head. just as he said, it just comes down to how you wanna spend.

^How much did you spend if you don't mind telling to get flow like this? Most of the OG SR guys have different opinions on this topic. They vote stock VE head will still be better. Aren't the stock VE cams almost the same size as S4's?
