Thread: 02 induction manifold ???

O2 INduction mani is prolly my top pick upgrade I did on the car outside of the lovefab turbo setup. It is a great piece! I recommend anyone get one and run it with confidence.

Well the "Big Timers" could care less about the 250-500 guys in the world that would buy a FWD SR20 intake manifold that costs less the the o2 model. Even if the "big timers" would for some reason develop an intake manifold they will never have the custom services o2 has.

I can see you trying to call Stillen or Greddy and asking them to please change your throttle body flange to a Q45 from N1 and to only drill and tap 3 vacuum ports instead of 7 and see what happens.

PS: The "Big Timers" don't really care about the FWD SR20 scene in my opinion. I see it like this, you can:

A) Build your own intake manifold (99.9% of the guys wont do this)

B) Wait for Greddy, Stillen, HKS, Greddy, Tomei, or somebody else to develop a FWD SR20 manifold that has been proven that will probably be $800 and cast

C) Buy an 02 induction and love the results when you are getting 30 more hp at the same boost levels as before with the stock IM.

you dont think that ''custom service'' is free, you pay for ''custom service'' you are right greddy,hks,stillen,ect would never have that kinda services becuase the price of their manifolds would go up. completely defeating the purpose of competition prices over other companies. its just like anything you can buy off the shelf or you can have someone create the off the shelf product with custom fabrication work, but most times it isnt cheaper than off the shelf.

Not knocking anyone's input here, by any stretch of the imagination...

I will be using the same setup, albeit with a Protech EL manifold, and I'm not even concerned with spending $900 or so on an o2 induction manifold (YET). I don't plan on running over 30psi, either, at the moment anyway.

I haven't seen the work in person, but I'd prefer to go with an o2 induction manifold, over any other. You've obviously already spent a pretty penny on your setup, so you may as well fork over that extra dough for the o2 manifold, or none at all.

I guess really, it just depends on who you talk to. Some say it isn't worth the money for the power gain, especially with regards to forced induction. I personally would still get it, though, just because it's so damn sexy. Hell if I could just powdercoat my intake manifold, I guess I'd be happy

The problem is I will have no before as it will be going in at the same time everthing else ...I am still trying to decide if I shopuld go VE or stick with the det I have in the garage , and just buy some cams and call it good or go out and buy a complete ve and build it , since I cant find just a ve head . That will make it harder to just go out and buy the O2 induction piece , so I am still brewing on the idea of what to do ...here so it looks like det with O2 induction manifold and cams , or a VE-T and wait a while for the O2 induction piece , I might be able to swing it but I do not know for sure VE-T + O2 induction , and Lovefab manifold , custom A/W intercooler where the heck would I go from there ...that might just about finish my project

Yeah, I noticed you've posted quite a few threads regarding your build.

Well, put it this way. If you get the o2 piece now, flanged for one or the other, you can always have it re-flanged if you want. Really hard to make decisions like this, concerning multiple directions.

My advice, well, technically Rob's advice, that he gave me this morning, is KEEP IT SIMPLE. I am definitely taking that to heart. All about the baby steps.

I know ...I am not doing no simple build , I want to point myself in the right direction , weather it be det or ve , but it seems like either will get me the power I want , but I want it streetable as well I am going to start doing the math ...and see what seems like the best path .

But yes, 02 MANIFOLDS are sexy to boot and worth it for the money to HP gains. Well made product.
