Tial 38mm on GTI-R manifold?
Do you guys know if the Tial 38mm wastegate will easily fit between the hood and the exhaust manifold with a GTI-R setup? if it doesn't, ill just weld a 90 degree flange so it will fit, I just want to be prepared.

My cousin has a Tial 38mm on his GTi-R manifold. It cleared the hood on his B13. When he put the setup in his B14 it didn't clear by a little. 5 mins later with a dremel it was perfect.

Yea, it shouldn't be a problem to make it work. I actually need to do the same thing. I want to scare old women walking their dogs.

You could try welding the vband flange from the new smaller V38. They are way more compact than the big ole ones.

Shit I kept it gangsta and just cut a hole in my hood! It cleared without the top nipple for the electric boost gauge. But then I got an electric one and didnt feel like rewelding my manny. It works and doesnt look bad and thats my hood vent lol. Itll clear easily though even with you pointing it strait up if you do it right.

I was planning on doing that. Are there any threads on it? Should I port the head a little too? I'm just planning on picking up a decent external gate when I see one for sale. Is there any way to cut a hole other than a plasma cutter? I wish I had a TIG at home...

How you been man?

Hey wangwang, is that my old manifold?

I used to run a dletagate on gtir mani w my old set up. I'm not sure how much taller the tial is. Maybe u could welt the flange at a slight angle to help the clearence.
