So the question comes down to - is the extra 50whp worth the cost by upgrading to a larger turbo and injectors, will it make a large difference on the street?

so you want a 400hp car but dont want to pay to play?

2871R, yes it's worth it to not be maxing out your setup

More than willing to pay for it. Just wondering 350whp vs. 400whp is a valid argument on the street when seeing with the 350whp setup will spool faster and cost me less. Wondering if that extra cash I am going to be spending is worth the 50whp.

Gt30 series anything will push more air at a given fuel ratio than a GT2871r. Both could get you to 400 whp but the 30 will not be working near as hard. I would do the 30 if it was me.

the gt30 is awesome for 400whp. Very responsive, and ask any of my friends it spools faster than their gt2871r. GT3071r is a perfect turbo for making great power and spooling fast. I have a GT3076r, and I can't say im completely happy with the performance I have gotten with it. I can't break 500whp on 25-26psi, the turbo is just working too hard at this elevation to make that kind of power. But I know it would get there eventually on 30psi or so.

The gt2871r is good, but I see very very few people making 400whp on them. 400whp can be done, but it just takes a bit to get there, and you can't daily it on that boost level of 20+psi. Unless you like building engines

So it is safer to have a bigger turbo for a daily drive car? thats interesting

what? no I do not think that is what he is saying. A GT30 series will have more lag to it if you are everyday driving then stick a gt2871r on it and smoke 99 percent of the cars of the road all while getting 25ish mpg. I was very happy with mine until I sold it. I am working on importing an r33 right now so that is where a lot of time and energy are going.

SR20s are meant to have the GT28 series turbo hence while the late models came from the factories with them.
