I had this happen to me and it turned out to be a bad fuel injector. Mine was on a 10:1 engine with 110 octane with a gt2871r .86 running 20psi. I have since learned my lesson and have any used injectors that i buy/use cleaned and flow balaced by rc. Just my .02

im not sure if it was the injector though, they only had 6k miles on them from the wrx that they were pulled from. it could just have been a tunning issue. those stupid injectors were a pain in the butt to tune even on a jwt ecu programmed for 370cc injectors, it made it easier but still a pain, then i finally got the a/f right where i wanted it and bam. miko was saying it was probably from using the crappy 91 octane we have here in AZ. lessoned learned, im getting a calum basic, i already sold off the safcII and Wideband, So i just need to tear apart the motor and see if the cylinder walls are ok, if so im just gonna throw a new set of standard bore pistons with new rings in it with a new headgasket and it should be good to go.

So i will run 8psi for daily driving and then 15psi when i have 100 octane race gas in the tank on occasions.
