21 psi from a T25 = no good. hahaha
well i got the injectors in and turned the boost controller all the way down to basicly block the wastegate after tuning it to 8psi. well the turbo itself held 21psi from 3500-4500rpms then dropped to 16-17 and held there from 4500-6000rpms, then it kept sputtering after that, then every time i would go into boost it would missfire. so i got home checked the plugs and 1-3 were good, really sooty from the tuning process but good, then number 4 i pulled it and what do you know, the tip of the plug was gone and melted away. nice. funny thing is that it was still running on 4 cylinders while cruising, it just didnt want to go into boost. put new plugs in it and turned the boost controler down a bit to see if i could get it to stop sputtering above 6krpms. a/f was holding 10.0-10.5. i have the settings all the way out so ive run out of room. i have a friend with a jwt ecu that he will let me use and im thinking i will get it retuned for my setup to make life easier. I cant get the a/f any leaner up top. It pulls like a madman though but only a little faster than my setup at 8psi due to running way too rich.

plus i think the plug went because of the heat from the turbo running too high of boost. ive never messed with a manual boost controler before so i have to get used to it to find the right setting. I want to set it to where it will spike to 16-17psi and hold 15psi. of course thats gonna drop after 6krpms. but that heat from the turbo was probably the caue of the plug getting melted. Oh well no harm to the motor. motor still runs awsome after the new plugs. lessoned learned, haha so now its time to find the sweet point.

That turbo probably won't last much. 15 psi still a little too much for that T25. I had something like that happened to me before. It was scarry.

i agree running that much psi isnt good for those turbos

Um yeah...... that turbo has no chance at those boost levels....What are those plugs gapped at also? Your just going outside that turbo's efficiency range.... Get a bigger turbo if you learned your lesson

haha, its not that i purposely ran that much boost. i was in the process of trying to get my boost controller set. I just want to run 14-16 psi or so, im still in the tunning process for the bigger injectors. I know thats way out of the efficiency range of the turbo.

Wait till you feel as little as 10psi psi with some 12.0 AF ratios accross teh board!! I showed a stock STi what was up tonight with just 10psi and ran away by a good bit!! 17-18psi at 12.0 is NUTS!!!! At 17-18psi yesterday I lost traction in FOURTH!! Next up is some drag radials!!

Ive got my boost controller set so that the turbo holds 18psi (and it actually will hold it for a good ammount of the RPM range) and bleeds off quickly to 10psi by redline. Im going to tell you no lie, From 3000k to about 6750rpms this car pulls like no other car ive ever felt when you can get it to hook with these cheap Khumos. And Ive driven some damn fast cars!

I cant wait till you turn up the boost and feel THAT. Then youll be like

Glad to see somebody else was out enjoying these T25 MONSTERs!

^ im with you, lower psi and more tuning = more power than higher psi untuned, well not saying more power but there are big differences im untuned states than tuned states of power.

Our T25's are great turbos but they are not meant to be run more than 14psi (maybe 14 for track and dyno days only). With 16-17 psi you won't make much power just shorten the life of the turbo.

I do agree with the tuning part. Get a solid A/F a steady 12psi and some weight reduction and you won't need 16 psi.

yeah it should be awsome. thanks guys for the imput. cant wait to get a nice a/f i went through a good 3/4 tank of gas trying to get it tuned yesterday and its still having problems. I got the boost to hold 12psi after adjusting the boost controller. it spikes to 14 holds 12 till almost redline. a/f was staying at 11.0:1 still too rich. but then i didnt change my settings at all then now its going lean and starting to detonate under WOT.

This is running a jwt ecu programmed for 370's already so it should have been as easy as tuning it for 370's on my stock ecu. but it hasent been that easy. and it keeps jumping all over the place. i cant figure it out. oh well im gonna do more tuning today.

LOL do you have a T25ed SR20 car? If so, You set your boost at 14psi and Ill leave mine at 17psi. Ill put down $500 CASH money that says my car will walk away from you in the quarter!! Going from 14lbs to 18lbs in these cars with a T25 adds MASSIVE ammounts of Tq and you can feel it! I used to think the same thing about the turbo just making more heat and no power. But its not true. THe turbo makes a SIGNIFICANT JUMP in power at 18lbs!

I dont really care if it makes the T25 die 10k miles quicker. Its a T25!
