just put a t3 turbo in with a top mount
hey i was just wondering what everyone thinks of this set up. ive looked around and didnt really see one like this. a garrett t3 turbo, top mount manifold, 36mm wastegate, 2.5 down pipe, n60 maf, 370cc injectors, top mount intercooler.

The setup looks pretty nicely put together, BUT I wonder how efficient the top mount setup is with a turbo like that? I mean, I know they are heat sinks even on stock setups when traffic or idling is concerned. I think with a T3 the heat will be even more of a problem. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't make as much power as you'd hope for until you went with a FMIC setup. Also, I think you might need to upgrade those injectors at some point, as well as go with a large diameter downpipe. The injectors might get maxed out if you go with a FMIC setup, and the 2.5" downpipe is going to choke up the turbo. Keep us posted.

Nice setup, but concur with above comments.

1. Those injectors are likely peaking out, depending on your tune, and base fuel pressure.
2. Insane for running a TMIC if you have no ducted hood for cool air to flow across it.

T3 + A/C ftw though.

550cc Injcetors Are Coming Along With Fmic, Jwt Ecu, And A Cobra Maf. I Had To Put This Turbo In Now Cuz My Old Turbo Was Completely Shoot.

Its going to run rich. The bov it going to dump air that has be measured by the maf. Run a hose from the bov to the hose a few inches after the maf right before the turbo.

^ur prob with a top mount is at idle, and traffic.
