Thanks guys. I have to get it tuned more stable now so I'll have to do some research as I save the money. Can a power FC run with a MAF?

The list never ends:

New dp,
Konis/GC
Brake upgrade
Wideband
Tuning system
slim fans

Cams?
Crank Pulley?
Intake manifold spacers?

Where do you guys think I should go next? I don't necessarily need more power so I guess safety and reliability are my goals. Still I won't turn down free stallions. There's always room in the stable.

Oh here's something else: The car has a Nology ignition coil booster wired in. It came from the previous owner who is an electrical wizard. I decided to leave it alone. Could that have contributed to my detonation issues? Or is this the point where the stock system needs attention? I always read ~250whp.

i think a step 1 style camshaft would definigly benifit you, a camshaft where springs and retainers are needed, definitly a must. something like s4 would do good

PowerFC should be able to run a maf, but if you are going that far...I'd switch to map. (depends on whether it's a D or L Jetro, which one it is)

Power is not falling off, so I see no reason to swap out the cams for anything larger. The UK use a cam setup similar to the S3's.

I have heard that UK cams are larger but can't confirm it by searching. Vs180 is the former owner of this motor so... what about the overlap? I am told cam gears are not going to help much either.

Most likely I'm going to commit to one of those downpipes in the GB, maybe get a crank pulley and concentrate on sticking and stopping.

true but its not all bout top end power, or power falling off, camshafts can bring in lower torque, lower end power, pick up faster on low to mid range spool, depending on the camshafts you can see nice overall gains throughout the rpm band.

Like he said; its like an S3 as it stands. I'd settle for taking the ping out of the mid-range. Don't get me wrong I like where your head is at man.

Right now it splits third right the **** off. The tires are very large 205s on 15x7 rims. I don't know how much more power it can use until I get slicks or radials.
Most folks are saying there's 20 in there to be released and it gets boost under 2k rpm. I think I need to address the rawness and driveability.

I think any mod that you add at this point is just going to make that thing spin earlier... and harder. Your spinning like crazy at stock boost?

I opt for bigger turbo! do it do it... maybe introduce some lag in your life, peer pressure peer pressure the high compression takes care of the low end I think.

In order to cut down on the pinging Ben you'll need to pull some timing, preferably at the ecu so you can adjust per cell rather than acrossed the board at the dizzy.
