Upcoming VET engine build
Ok, so this is what's been going through my head as far as the engine build I'll

be doing for the pulsar. My main thing right now is I want to see how this

turbo motor will respond with high compression pistons rather than just your

normal 8-9.0:1 and to keep the head stock and see what kind of power I will

make after fully tuning it then at a later date, take the head back off and

have mazworx go over with a full $3-4k build on it. Parts are as follows.

GTiR Block w/ 1/2 headstuds
Darton sleeves out to 90mm
CP 12.5:1 pistons
Manley turbo tuff rods
Stock GTiR 86mm crank
Stock non worked VE head w/ stock cams
BJ intake manifold
Protech exhaust manifold
either a 35R, SC6262, or the 6765.

I've been talking with a few people and I think this will be a nasty setup.

The mission is already started

Early sub! This should be interesting

going that high of compression is going to be hard to manage without very high octane race fuel. I thought the people going 10.5:1 were crazy. But if you never plan to actually drive the car it could work out.

Why use the GTiR stuff? You shooting for over 700whp?

I see some high aspirations with this build and no headwork? Some ideas are a bit overkill while others fall short.

I would not stress the GTiR stuff so much and spend more money on getting the head ported a bit with larger valves to suit the 90mm bore. I know you wanted to see how it does now with the stock head, but why do it twice?

Interested in results though.

^^ I think because he already has a gti-r (or atleast the block)

But agree with pretty much everything Coheed, especially as far as those 12.5:1 pistons are concerned. 10.5:1 is nothing new though as Honda boys have been doing this on pump gas for years and with the current progression in tuning capabilities, tuning with 10.5:1 on pump should not be a problem (that is if he wants to run pump gas)

The car will be ran on 93 and mix or E85 or just str8 race gas. The fuel doesn't matter to

me, as I will be able to get any of it. I could just go the easy route and use the current

motor that is in my GTiR with a 35R, i know it would make over 550whp. But i want to go

a different route. I don't want to do any headwork because I want to see how much

power I can make with it being stock, then go back and do the headwork and see the

gains. This will be a monster motor, and I've been talking with alot of highly experienced

engine builders and they are all telling me to do the 12.5:1. There have be many many

honda guys that have already done this on their side. I'm excited to see how it does.

I agree with coheed, just get a VE bottom half, and the rest mentioned is fine

VE bottom end won't marry to the GTiR drive train without a fair bit of machining.

^^Ya what he said. VE bottom end doesn't even begin to have the strength needed for

the amount of whp I'm going for. First time I hit boost it would crinkle those rods. I'm

shooting for over 650whp. My Pulsar is running right now with the stockish engine, I have a

spare GTiR block here I am building for it.

very nice specs pal ... cant wait to see the build progress
you will have to use race gas though, or retard the ignition massively
management? standalone i hope

best of luck

It will be ran on AEM EMS, ignition setup will be real similar to nissan crazy's (Eric) nx2k.
