Insay use de/det pistons they will hold better, just remember if you use de pistons to
Notch the bottom for the oil squirter.
I made a reliable 450 whp on a 60-1 log manifold .det pistons at 21'psi
Good luck

ok what about with a built DET head?? compression shouldnt be as high with a DET head

why would you get rid of a ve head(best option) for a de head to lower the compression when you can change pistons...

Ok. new setup. how much with this setup

SR20DET block
SR20DET pistons (8.5:1)
SR20VE head (SR16VE cams)(supertech springs and retainers)
Calum basic
Z32 MAF
555cc injectors @ 4bar
Turbonetics 60-1 @ 20lbs
Protech log manifold
3" downpipe
Tial 38mm WG

you dont need the springs and retainers but thats just me. idk if i like those injectors (wouldnt that be close to maxing them out?)

with an almost identical setup i made 380whp at 12psi...with the 8.5:1 pistons, and a VE head the compression ratio will actually be 9.3:1(the head will raise it .8)
if you want specifiics on my old set up pm me...ill be more than happy to share

Not trying to thread jack, But I'm curious about something. So saying that u have a DE block and use Fgorged pistons with a 9:1 compression ratio and a SR20VE head, then the compression ratio should be 9.8:1. So best bet is using 8.5:1 pistons and a VE head to get 9.3:1 ? Am I right in thinking this or am I missing something somewhere ?
