Thread: Anyone still have windshield washer?

because I'm lazy.

& i just realized with my first day of driving this snow season, that my washer motor took a shit on me

I'm using a fuel pump for pumping nitromethane/alcohol into model airplanes on top of the stock reservoir pump. The stock pump wont work for that far but the one I got from work does the trick .

I need to fab a WW reservoir into my car as well. It won't pass safety without it.

Mine isn't safe at all, the reservoir literally just ziptied inside the truck and isn't very secure, but the track people don't care? I had meant to strap it down better but meh, it works.

Picture? Where exactly are you mounting it in the trunk? And HOW is it pumping that to the windshield? Did you run the lines through the interior? You're not worried you'll end up with washer fluid all over the inside?

I will have to take a picture when I get back out to work on the car. I don't have much of an interior anymore so I'm not too worried. I am using silicone fuel line for glow engines (nitro/alcohol) and it is pretty resilient so I doubt I will have problems with the line.

Yes I just have an inline pump between the stock reservoir and the windshield.

Inline as in aftermarket or OEM? I'm interested in doing this. That thing is ugly anyway, I'd prefer it stay hidden.

That's a long way to run the wires too.

The NXs have wipers and squirters in rear so I wouldn't worry about them leaking. The lines for them are just clear vinyl like they sell at home depot.

I came up with a solution.

It doesn't look as pretty as something you can buy in the store but it's washer fluid who gives a shit?I saved myself $60 (yes the universal kit is $60!) and when it's buried next to my motor mount you won't see the motor or wiring anyway.

Basically I just bought a 60 ounce container from the local dept store for $2 and drilled a hole in the side, epoxied the motor in and then made my connections. The reason I had to hardwire this one to the motor is because it's from a KIA but works just as well

60 ounces might not be a lot but it's better than 0 ounces
