HowTo: Make a ReATM Turbo Valve
So i've never seen this before so maybe i invented this. So a lot of people debate over going "Blow off" vs. "Recirculated". For us MAF cars BOV means running rich when blowing off to the atmosphere. My solution is..... why not make some thing that will allow me to have both. When i want to be ricerish i can go BOV and when i want to some granny driving i can recirc it.

Here are instruction on making a ReATM Valve so that you can pop the hood and switch from BOV to recirc with out moving any hose

Tools:

Drill

Cost:
$3.99

Mat'l:
3/4" PVC Ball Valve ( make sure to pick one that open all the way properly

Note:

I'm running a HKS type2 SSQV with a custom 3/4" recirculating adapter that i made out of pvc. I'm also still running the HKS SSQV noisemaker tri-fins

Diagram

Original setup

Step 1: Close the Ball valve

Step 2: Mark spots to drill

Step 3: Drill two some <1/2" holes

Step 4: Deburr the shaving and open the valve to make sure it funcitons

Step 5: Install

Recirculated

Open to Atmosphere

Done!

Enjoy!! just remember you saw it here first

Same design can be used with any type of recirc'd blow off valve

i'm going to eventually epoxy a cone to amplify the sound

Seems like a lot of trouble. If you just run blow through you wont have richness problems and you can still recirculate to be quiet.

Wow, do we have a ricer how to section? I just can't see wanting that.

How many people out there have done this and has it been something you continue to use?

stay tuned for the "how to: install a turbo boost bypass valve."

install a pvc valve before the intake and when you want to be NA just open the valve. but when you want turbo boost omgz, you close the valve!!

seriously though.. have we really come to this?

you WANT to be ricerish? and you think driving with recirculated bov is for granny driving? come on man.

lol, I obviously like running BOV, but the ssqv is loud and sometimes at night i dont want the attention.

for those wondernig about the recirc fitting for the ssqv, it's just something i machined on the lathe out of pvc
