You will flow so much more air at the same boost levels you will have to completely re-tune timing to avoid detonation.

If I only didn't hate working on Low Ports .

Anyone have the details on what exactly is different between the two? Is it the angle of the intake side runners?

lowport turbo ftw! sorry there is nothing knowledgable in this post but I love mine. I trapped 107 with a journal bearing t25 on only 9psi with the highport intake cam in it. Judging by your sig, your making way more power than I, but just food for thought i guess.

- Get a highport head ported and polished with a valve job and it will flow very well. Asthon had a stock highport head and look at all the power he was making. I've also heard that a stock VE head out flows a worked low/highport head. Hard to believe, but I'm not sure how true this is. Maybe someone with experience can chime in.

im pretty sure there hasnt been solid evidence on this one, either one will do the job just fine

Yes, there is. snickers AKA Charles did flow tests on both heads, Gti-R head, low port head, and high port head, stock and all. The low port flows more than the high port and the Gti-R head flows more than the other two.

Think about this for a second, please.

The low port and the high port have different intake cams. (With the low port cam being less aggressive) YET, they both make the same amount of horsepower.

On the forum somewhere, search for it and ye shall find.

I know searching is not fun for anyone, so, here.

Low port > high port as far as its showroom stock ability to yield more power.
