Thread: low port VS high port

I know this has been covered and people have said the lowport flows more but the highport is better for revving over 8k ? I have two heads sitting here and im working on a shortblock right now and wondering what are the real benefits to the lowport head and if it is worth using over the highport ? opinions?

I'd like to hear others' opinions as well.

i have used both low ports and high ports in turbo applications without changing the turbo set up. i realize low ports flow more air with the same cam shafts and respond better and faster. if you have both heads infront of you intake manifold and everything water pipe ect. then i would do it

I would take the lowport every damn time.

I like the highport because the injectors are easy to get to lol. My highport head has a P&P, 3 angle valve job, and a O2 induction manifold strapped to the back of it. It will do just fine, but yes I've always heard the lowport is better from a benchflow test stock vs stock.

All things being equal (no modifications to either), I'd take the lowport. Flows better.

ok looks like i will be using the low port most likely, right now all i have is BC stage 2's and going to order a set of valve springs is there gonna be any spool difference or anything being a different angle desgin ? or should i expect alot of the same thing ? i would think the gains would be minimal with just the head swap

Damn! Never heard about the difference between Highport and Lowport Engines used in turbo set up. Good to know this
