I got the transmission out. I need a new clutch and flywheel too so what do you guys think? Clutchmasters stage what? The flywheel I'm taking to a shop to see if it can be resurfaced (its a SR16 flywheel). The pressure plate is boned too.

Okay, now that I'm not on my phone.

I definitely need a new clutch entirely. Both the disc and pressure plate are done for (or close to it). I probably have about 15,000 on this setup, but probably about 50 hard passes at the drag strip on slicks and it's been through two transmissions.

I'm looking at the ClutchMasters Stage 4 Ceramic Sprung 6 Puck, but it gives the torque rating as 170% compared to stock... What is this in wtq lol? I want something that's gonna last me a while...

I've always used ACT clutches... But I hear good things about ClutchMasters. Here are the two options basically, both are sprung 6 puck extreme duty street:

Only $20 difference in the two but if one is going to last longer and potential be easier on my transmission...

When companies say 170% over stock that is 270% compared to stock torque holding. I figure stock torque at about 115 WTQ and then multiply by 2.7 which gives you 310.5 WTQ as their advertised holding. Usually they are very conservative so you could go up to maybe 350 WTQ and be fine.

So go with the ACT then, cool. Unless the ACT is rated for crank torque? I don't think it will matter, my unsprung 6 puck never slipped (same torque rating), but it sure did a number on my damn flywheel! From what I have seen the T2 setups that are turned up produce torque similar to their horsepower, and I think it might be close to 350 whp/wtq, and probably over that if I go externally gated, and get some S4 cams.

If I were you and you've already dealt with a 6-puck ceramic I would give the JWT PP and find out what clutch disc this is (I think it is a JWT disc) from Mike Kojima over at www.MotoIQ.com
I can't imagine a T2 setup needing more unless you've got a GT2871R and are pushing 20+ psi with S4 cams. If you have something like that then by all means go with something more aggressive.

I think I'll go with what I've had good luck with (ACT), just with springs in the disc this time instead of not .

Okay so my SR16 flywheel is donezo.

Need to know which flywheel I should go with, I don't care about driveability because it takes maybe 15 minutes to get used to a new clutch/flywheel setup.

The lightweight flywheels should be less harsh on my transmission and the engine should rev a little faster which is nice (downshifting is more fun too).

I guess my question is which one is the best bang for the buck? I can't afford the Fidanza, and I guess if I could find another SR16 one that would work too because I liked that one. It needs to be cheap and not fail on me. The SR16 flywheel I have now heated up enough that the hot spots actually were so hot that metal was moved and is swirled up and raised in the groove where the disc rides.

Not sure what type of budget you are on but I HIGHLY recommend getting a JWT flywheel. It's by far the best one out there for a high-power turbo car.

Here is my current one:

I'm hoping there is enough meat on there still to resurface it. Wont know until I take it to the shop here in a few days though.

The clutch in this thread finally gave out. I took a risk and ran it after putting the transmission back together. I put about another couple thousand (HARD) miles on the car before it gave out. I'm gonna go with the ACT sprung 6puck and probably another SR16 flywheel for budget's sake. I'll take pics of the carnage when I get it apart.
