If you are going to buy the pump from Greg get the whole kit , you do need the pickup ....and it has the new drive piece for the carnk and a pullie , that way you dont need a spacer

What parts are required to fit VE pump to a GTIR bottom end?

I would prefer to keep harmonic balancer, or should i just dump it and go aluminium?

-VE Pump
-VE pulley
-and spacer off gspec??

EDIT: Do i need the VE pickup also???

Yes VE pickup is necessary as it is a bigger pipe (flows more to the pump). Some of the VE pickups also place it in a better spot to avoid starvation.

That's up to you to decide. See any of the harmonic damper discussions (one very recent).

Well years ago Mike K said the motor was internaly ballenced , and if we where worried about changing the pullie why were we not worried about changing flywheels , the sr20 is not ballanced with the pullie and flywheel like alot of the domestic engines are ony the crank / rotating asembly is ballanced ....the info is out there in old SCC issues

Do you balance a suspension spring coil?

NO!

You dampen it!

Same fucking thing.

Its ok .......I always thought ballancing had somthing to do with damping inherant vibrations ....the better balanced motor had less vibration......but I guess people make mistakes
