I am using stock springs and retainers with the BC Stage 2 cams. They are big cams for using stock springs and retainers. Once you get high up in revs, a DE needs more oil pressure as well, so look into a new or VE oil pump if you go with bigger cams and more RPMs.
I over revved it once three days ago. I thought I may have thrown a rocker arm but alas, I checked yesterday (just to be 100% sure) and popped the valve cover and everything was where it should be. I rushed a downshift and hit 8000 RPM under zero throttle and braking only nothing happened, thankfully.
I do not use rocker arm stoppers. I would rather fish around the head for parts rather than bend a valve. I do not know why people use them still.
Get rear parts to stiffen the rear of the B14. I would not touch the front at all unless you are going to be track racing the car. For any other purpose, buying a larger front sway bar is counter productive. I would leave it stock and increase the rear as much as you can. Rear strut tower bar, rear sway bar, new bushings in the rear beam, etc...
