I want to make some head work and machine the combustion chamber. [Can't explain correct in english] I want to machine the combustion chamber to the gasket (87mm) size.
How much cc's per cylinder can I take to make 8,5 cr ? what cr do you reccomend for the sr20vet 500hp on the pump gas?

I'd just run the ve-t stock pistons and call it a day. As well a mls ve headgasket.

today me and the motors master measured the ve head. the dowels on the head are 13,4 mm in the sr20det are 14,7mm

the dowels will be machined 13,4 -> 14,7mm
the head bolt holes will be machined 12mm -> 13mm (the arp threads are 12mm)

my engine master tells that it will be better to make it tight, because if the head will have 0,4 mm lift with the dowel and the block will have 0,4 mm with the dowel - it will result a 0,8 mm total shift -> so it can result a big failure.

Thanks. I have decided to use 0,08" (2.0mm) cometic mls gasket. So my theoretical compression ratio will be 9,3->8,7.

I have just build an SR20VE engine with OEM det pistons and 2.00MM head gasket and I got 150psi per cilindrer.

I have obtained sr16ve cams and 2.0mm s14 cometic head gasket.

Ordered CS sr20ve top feed fuel rail and oil line for the vvl from GregV.

Now rebuilding my gearbox with new bearings and the syncromesh par gearset.
