You guys need to learn how to do things right and stop cutting corners and half assing..

sorry I haven't understood your idea correct.

Can anybody tell me : how deep can I cut the CP sr20det pistons for the safe revving? I plan to rev up to 9k with the sr16ve cams.

gearbox assembled. now it's time for a full engine rebuild

there is an idea to machine sr20det eagle s13 rods to fit gtir 19mm wide bearings, instead of 17mm.

still haven't decided : what oil to use? what oil pump to use : gti-r or sr20ve ? or sr16ve n1? (the partnumbers are different)

Dude sell those det pistons and buy VE 9:0 pistons , sell Eagle Non GTIR rods and buy GTIR Rods, GTIR Oil Pump will work, That Cometics Headgasket I wont Recommend , get a Apexi no questions asked , the VE head needed no machine work for our ARP GTIR 1/2'' headstuds. Also S16 Cams and that .63 backend = No No also. Just listen please and you wont have no problems. You really dont want to have to be taking out engine to change stuff when sheet happens.

1. the pistons will be notched for the valves
2. what GTI-R rods?
3. why MLS is bad?
4. gti-r studs are 12mm. the head is already machined
5. sr16 cams? what backend they will like? 0.82 1.06 can I use another backend with my turbo

3. MLS? - why is cometic bad?
4. ok
5. 0.82 - I think I will stay this turbo or I will stay out of funds. my next will be Precision or GTX30

You can use eagles or just keep stock GTIR rods for your goals. No way your going to break a set of GTIR rods with 500whp.

Cometic gaskets have had many problems, they are a cheapy made gasket and dont hold up well. Some have had alright luck with them but a lot have had gasket failures. One of the biggest things was the improper machining of the dowel pin holes leaving too much slop in the gasket allowing it to shift and in some cases to enough to where the firing ring of the gasket was hanging over the cylinder edge. I suggest a Cosworth gasket which is about 156 shipped from FRsport.com and a really really strong, well made gasket that is pretty inexpensive. Ive used them in my builds soo far well over 500whp for a long time, 30psi of boost and not a single problem. Love em. Next in line would be the PE gasket from mazworx or Apexi. But those are a good 100 bucks more than the Cosworth gasket and in my opinion from looking at both first hand, equal in quality and both perform basicly the same.

Manley doesn't make gti-r rods.

the only rods I've found are pauter

I want to buy manley h-beam. but do they have gti-r bearing lock?

Mazworx has an option when buying the rods for GTIR Machining, a Precision 6262 CEA Billet will do wonders on your car.

I have my pauter rods machined for both bearings.
