Is this turbo a 2871r ?





i want to get it rebuilt. i just want to confirm what type of garrett turbo it is

Should be a plate on the CHRA with numbers and such. Can call Garrett and they can let you know usually.

Just look up the chra number in the garret catalog.

No plate, I'd be real skeptical about it being a Garrett...
Yah the shop should know or should be able to find out.

No rebuild for a bb turbo you will just be replacing the chra. measure the compressor wheel and exhaust wheel.

It doesn't look like a 2871R to me. Mine looks much larger than yours. It looks more like my old T-28.

The super close shots don't help. A shot of the entire turbo would be helpful.

Your best bet would be to measure the exducer and inducer. That will tell you for sure if it's a 71.
