Thread: Clutch Disk Options

In a couple of months or so, I'm going to be turboing my B14 but im going to be putting in a new clutch now since I'll be replacing the tranny. I have a pressure plate ready, but I'm looking for a clutch disk. What do you guys think are the best options for a set up that will be around 300whp? The car will also be a dd so I don't want anything thats going to be harsh and uncomfortable for dd.

ACT 6 puck sprung.

Anything not equivalent to (greater is good too) that and you will be replacing your clutch real soon. Also make sure the pressure plate you got has enough clamping force.

I personally will never go with a sprung disk on a non-stock motor again. Those damn springs are ALWAYS poppin' out! I loved my ACT 6 Puck Solid disk and now have a 4 Puck solid.

I've never had a problem with a spring popping out. Maybe you release the clutch too fast.

ACT's are known to loose their springs. Keep that in mind, it could very well be that they are more sensitive to crappy driving.

I would suggest against a puck clutch if your going to daily the car. I was willing to live with the harshness, but when I found out that it was gone within 1 year, it's not worth it.

Now I'm doing a b15 SE disc with a Competition Stage 4 PP. I'm shooting for 300whp, probably 250wtq.

the old ones do, but the new Yellow spring have been better.

What do you guys think about the act street clutch?

the harshness can be dealt with, but for DD it sure as hell isnt comfortable, I have an ACT 6puck unsprung disc and for DD it sucks, but for racing its just great...
