Wow I'm impressed that my disc is holding that much still. Maybe I should have kept it after all

How are we possibly supposed to recommend a disc if we have no idea what the pressure plate is like?

Well, my plans on getting the custom pp might not work out as planned so now im looking for the set and came across a spec 3 clutch which looks like a good bang for the buck.

SPEC STAGE 3 CLUTCH KIT 95-99 200SX 2.0L SE-R FREE S&H: eBay Motors (item 180552306494 end time Oct-23-10 11:51:39 PDT)

A 6-puck is absolutely overkill for 300 WTQ and I would advise against it for a daily driver. Almost everyone over-clutches their cars around here though, so I know I'm going against the grain. How many times have you heard that you only want as much clutch as you need, not any more?
Do what you want with your money though. I won't try to convince you otherwise if you're set on something like that.

The pp he is talking about is my old one, in the super sentra. It has 2000lb clamp force, and feels a little stiffer than stock, but feels like a stock clutch should. It is like a JWT pp on steroids. It holds with the sintered iron disk, so I recommended him a 6-puck ceramic disk for 350whp/300wtq. I've slipped every other non-puck disk, regardless of pp, on 300whp/290tq. Had to go with a 2100lb pp with a cerametallic 6-puck to hold a disco potato.

Anyway, since I am not going to be taking the transmission off tomorrow, he is now looking for a clutch kit.

If a company says it will hold 300lbft of torque, they mean 250-275

I actualy completely agree with you. I don't want to go overkill but I do want to get a clutch set up that's just right and will hold up.At first I was completely against a 6 puck but I thought it was my only choice fit that setup. Benfenner, what do you think I should go with?

I would rather have too much clutch than replace them constantly.

And if you have the clutch for exactly what you are running, when you upgrade then you have to replace it all over again...

I modify too much to put in a clutch that just meets current demand. Within a couple months I've changed or added a bunch of parts and I'm making another 50 horses/torque. Better to overkill so you can build to what it's rated rather than getting stuck with a clutch that needs to be replaced soon because it slips now.
